Want to know more about what the new Canadian Fuel Charge is and what it means for carriers?
There is a new Canadian Fuel Charge that has gone into effect as of April 1st. The notice released from the Canada Revenue Agency is linked here in PDF format and inserted below as images. This new Canadian fuel account is required for any carrier traveling through Manitoba, New Brunswick, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Nunavut, or Yukon and will be required to be filed on a quarterly basis, just like IFTA returns.
Since this will affect any carrier that travels through one of the listed jurisdictions, we wanted to let you know about this new fuel charge. You can also read more about the program in their info sheet here.
